It's almost here, and I'm guessing you're starting to see people around you go Christmas crazy. Maybe they're wearing Christmas jumpers, santa hats or have gone all our sparkly. But what can you do to add a little subtle Christmas into your look?
So not everyone wants to go all out, and that's okay. I'm here to give you a few little subtle things you can add into your everyday look. Pick and choose whatever you wish, but it's all things I add into my look from December onwards to get me in that festive mood.
Curly hair
For me, I'm very much a wash my hair, leave to dry and go with the flow kinda gal. Yes, I'm lazy. But I also actually quite like my natural wave. However, when it gets festive I think there's nothing nicer than having nicely curled hair with a woolly hat. I just think having curly hair makes it more special, and it just feels festive to me. I either curl mine with my GHD's, or the Enrapture Totem Styler.
Ribbons
I've seen a few people in my office wearing ribbons around their ponytails, or as a hair band, and I love the look. I just think it looks so playful and young, it's definitely Christmassy for me. There's nothing better than a red ribbon at Christmas. So get your hair into a high 50's pony and tie the ribbon around it. Or make like 13 Going on 30 and tie it around your head, and then twist so the bow is under your head and the ribbon is flat. Super pretty and easy.
Sparkly Accessories
Adding a little sparkly to your outfit definitely helps. Whether you go all out with a sparkly jumper, or go simple with a little gold bracelet or earrings, it all helps to add a little festive something to your look. It really is the only time of the year you can get away with adding glitter to absolutely anything and it be okay.
Gold Eyeshadow
Speaking of glitter, this is where gold eyeshadow comes in. I absolutely love wearing the gold colour, Dirtysweet, from the Naked Smoky Eyes palette as it's subtle and not too over the top. It's incredibly wearable. Pop it all over the lids and make add some bronze in the crease and it's a great everyday festive look. And exactly the look I used in my everyday festive make up post. There's an awesome gold shadow in the Maybelline Nudes Palette as well if you want to stay purse friendly on your gold shadow.
Highlighter
I don't usually make the effort to wear highlighter all year around, however as soon as December hits I pull out the golder highlights. It adds a lovely tone to the cheekbones and champagne colours add a little sparkle too. Mac Soft and Gentle is the perfect highlighter for this time of year as it's a gorgeous mix of gold and champagne (not photographed here as Fred the Cat recently knocked it off the side and it shattered). But for a more purse friendly option you can grab Seventeen's Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter.
Red Lips
I absolutely love having a red lip over the festive period. and I think it can add an extra something to any look. You can find my favourite red lips here for Christmas, but it's the perfect way to bring Christmas into your look. Teamed with the gold eye, a red ribbon in the hair and sparkly accessories you know it's a winner. I've word red lips so much in December and every time I get told how much people like it. It's perfect for Christmas.
I'd love to know what you all do to add a little Christmas into your look on an every day basis. It's always nice to add something a little special.
